A brief report appeared in the Vietnam News says:
A shark attacked two people at Quy Nhon beach in central Binh Dinh Province 20 May 2010.
Truong Thi Tanh, a 60-year-old resident of Quy Nhon’s Ghenh Rang Ward, was bitten by the shark at about 6:00 am while she was swimming some 15m from the shore in Quy Nhon City.
Tanh cried for help and was brought ashore to safety by soldiers. She was later taken the Military Hospital No 13 in Quy Nhon City.
Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, a 52-year-old resident in Nguyen Van Cu Ward, was later attacked by a shark which left a minor wound on her right leg.
Thao, who was also taken to the same hospital, said the shark attacked her when she was only 5m from the shore.
According to Sai Gon Giai Phong (Liberated Sai Gon) newspaper, 20 people have been attacked since September 2009 while swimming in the waters off the central coast.
