INJURED – 20 January 2012 – Taimali, Taitung County, Taiwan – fisherman bitten
A 24-year-old Indonesian fisherman (not named) working in Taiwan for the past two months was bitten on the left thigh by a shark while bringing it aboard the fishing boat. He suffered a 10 cm bite wound.
He thought the shark was already dead, but when he brought the shark aboard the boat it turned and bit him on the leg.
The incident happened on 20 January 2012 at Taimali, Taitung County, Taiwan.
He was taken to hospital some 2 hours ways.
The shark (not identified) was just over a metre long and weighed 70 kg, according to the report.

This is not shark attack. It’s self defence. Don’t confuse the issues

Blue shark, classed as near threatened due to overfishing. Not much sympathy for the fisherman.
